On today’s show: how a stroke transformed chiropractor Jon Sarkin into an obsessive visual artist whose work was as fragmented and cluttered as his mind had become.

I’ve felt like this.

The WVIL is a concept camera that’s based off the idea of turning a camera into a phone (instead of vice versa).
This camera would be Wireless, have a massive Viewfinder, and Interchangeable Lenses. It would also let you travel in time. If only.

Virtual economies are growing - a really interesting and potentially disruptive global development. It is basically an economy where individuals share in-game values for real money. Well, in the beginning it wasn’t real money, but since people started to buy virtual stuff for real money the virtual currency became a real currency.

These numbers are taken from the report WORLD BANK VIRTUAL ECONOMY REPORT: SECONDARY MARKETS WORTH $3 BILLION. But why is the World Bank interested in this? Because among the many interesting effects around these virtual worlds they have become markets where individuals in one part of the world could perform work within the virtual world and get paid from another part of the real world. Somebody in the developing world could e g invest hours in gold farming within a virtual world, meaning playing the game for many hours performing tedious and time consuming tasks in order to collect virtual currencies (gold). Since many people in the developed world have more money that time they could then sell their gold real money i e doing a service job. Virtual worlds have started to become communicating vessels for value transferring between developing and developed markets.
Read the report: WORLD BANK VIRTUAL ECONOMY REPORT: SECONDARY MARKETS WORTH $3 BILLION to understand what the virtual economies are all about and what  their current state are.
